ANZAC Day was cool because we all decided to create different posters in our own styles. We worked in groups of three. We enjoyed it very much. (Phoenix) Creating the ANZAC posters was cool because we all had different ideas for the posters. (Victoria) For ANZAC Day we made ANZAC biscuits. (Tivinia) In Room 21 (our Buddy Class) we made ANZAC poppies. They were red, green and black and were really large. (Natasha) We made the ANZAC poppies with fabric paper, straws and egg cartons. (Kaitlyn) In Room 19 we made poppies on maps of Australia and New Zealand. (Kate) If you are around school, pop in and have a look at our creations. (Jared)

First Few Weeks in Room 19
Hi Everyone out there in computer land....
On Art Attack day, we made a part for the pirate ship each which we have displayed on our wall in the classroom. Everyone had their own special job to do and it was lots of fun.We used glitter paint with our designs. We used all different things to make the pirate ship and items. We also made underwater sea creatures. We had to sign this funky cool chart. We also used dye and we used cotton wool to make the waves.
We are very lucky to be part of Plant to Plate. In Plant to Plate we had to use black soil (compost) to help the plants to grow. We put the compost in buckets and then spread it around the gardent and trees. We had an amazing fun time planting the plants. We had to smell some of the plants. We got to use sheep pellets (poo) for the fertilizer.
Some of the cool art work we have done so far this year is: colourful names and hands (displayed in the cloakbay of Room 19), BAGS (Blessings, Achievements, Goals and Strategies) and Jigsaw pieces about ourselves.
We are learning to do Kapa Haka at our Team Assemblies. Miss Lewin has a bright yellow box with prizes and one special student who displays leadership in Mana Tahi dives into the yellow box every week.
Do you know what PRIDE means? PRIDE is respecting other people's property, caring about ourselves and others, celebrating who and what we are. P = Pride, R = Respect, I = Integrity, D = Diversity, E = Excellence.

Plant to Plate
We really enjoyed learning about preparing a garden and planting lots of vegetables. We also enjoyed putting compost around all of the trees in the school. We look forward to watching the garden grow!
